Hi! I’m Maria

I remember the exact moment I fell in love with letterpress - it was when I ordered handmade cotton paper for my watercolor paintings. When the shipment arrived, I carefully opened the box, first one flap, then the other. Lying there, right on top of the tissue paper, was a beautiful letterpress thank you card. The letters were pressed into the fluffiest, most delightful paper I had ever seen; it took my breath away. I found it so lovely and intriguing that I became a student of letterpress without even owning one. It wasn't until my birthday, two years later, that I decided to treat myself to my 1,000lb. dream - an 1889 Chandler & Price printing press.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture, and have always been drawn to artistic endeavors and also the art of painting. Having art in my veins, I used my skills in various roles, but it wasn’t until I became self-employed by opening Clover & Lamb Design and Letterpress Studio LLC, that I finally found my niche with letterpress.

Letterpress is an art that allows me to incorporate both my design and painting skills to create bespoke pieces just for you. The intimate process of creating custom designs, mixing the ink, inking the plate, passing each paper through my hands one at a time, feeding it into the clamshell - it is all enchanting, and for me, pure joy.

My hope is to capture your heart with my invitation designs and letterpress printing, just as mine was captured by the beauty of that simple thank-you card.

As for me personally, I married the love of my life, Jonathan, on October 11, 2019. I love spending time with my hubby, our sweet pup Maibell, and our kitty, Brook. I love being outside, hiking, fly fishing, and camping. If I am not out of doors, you can find me curled up by the fire in our cozy cottage in Sunriver, Oregon.

Thank you for visiting Clover & Lamb, and please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions about my services.
